Clark County, OH (September 11, 2025) – A morning crash in Clark County claimed the life of a 17-year-old student on her way to Bible study early Wednesday, according to state troopers.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 5:37 a.m. on September 10 in the 6400 block of Fairfield Pike, just outside Springfield. Authorities say Abigail Campbell, 17, of Springfield, was driving a 2002 Dodge Stratus westbound when she lost control, veered off the roadway, and struck a tree.
Campbell was pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers believe she may have failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway, which has been described by residents as difficult to navigate, especially for new drivers.
Campbell was a student at the Clark County Career Technical Center and a member of the Greenon Girls Tennis Team. Grief counselors have been made available for students and staff in response to the tragedy.
