Glenn County, CA (September 12, 2025) – A tragic collision involving horseback riders left four people hurt Tuesday evening in Glenn County. The California Highway Patrol reported the crash occurred around 7:45 p.m. on September 9 along County Road 16 near County Road HH.
According to the California Highway Patrol, 34-year-old James Sudberry was driving a Ford Explorer when he struck four horseback riders traveling westbound on CR 16. The impact threw all four from their horses.
Among the victims, 27-year-old Matthew Meester of Orland suffered serious head and neck injuries and was transported to a hospital. Antonio Guerrero, 32, also of Orland, sustained moderate injuries to his knee, elbow, and wrists. Holden Garcia, 28, and Jameson Temple, 25, both from Paradise, were also injured, though their conditions have not been specified. Sadly, two of the horses were killed in the collision.
