Bridgeport, CA (September 13, 2025) One person lost their life in a deadly head-on crash Friday afternoon along Highway 395, just north of Buckeye Road in Bridgeport.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal collision occurred around 2:55 p.m. on September 12. Two vehicles collided head-on for reasons that have not yet been confirmed. A 911 caller reporting the crash also stated they were bitten by a dog that had exited one of the vehicles after the impact.
Officers responded quickly and shut down both directions of the highway to allow emergency services to attend to the scene and investigate. Tragically, one person died in the collision. Authorities did not immediately disclose whether anyone else was injured.
By 5:42 p.m., both the northbound and southbound lanes of Highway 395 had reopened to traffic. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
