Jefferson County, MO (January 15, 2025) – A two-vehicle crash on northbound US-67 at Montauk Road left two people with minor injuries Wednesday morning, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The incident occurred around 8:15 a.m. when a 2006 Kia Optima, driven by a 33-year-old man from Festus, MO, reportedly pulled out in front of a northbound 2013 Ford Focus driven by a 17-year-old female from Festus, MO.
Efforts by the Ford Focus driver to swerve and avoid the Kia were unsuccessful, resulting in a collision between the front ends of both vehicles.
The 17-year-old driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital Jefferson by a personal vehicle. An 11-year-old male passenger in the Kia Optima also suffered minor injuries and was transported to the same hospital by the Joachim Plattin Ambulance District.
Both vehicles were extensively damaged and towed from the scene by Pippins Towing.
The crash remains under investigation.
