Brooklyn, NY (September 16, 2025) – A 71-year-old pedestrian was struck and injured Sunday morning in a shocking crash involving a 15-year-old driver operating a stolen vehicle in East New York.
According to the New York State Police, the collision occurred around 9:42 a.m. on September 14 at the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and Hegeman Avenue. Surveillance video captured the stolen car plowing through a lamp post before striking the pedestrian, who appeared unresponsive on the sidewalk immediately after impact.
The teen fled the scene on foot, but was quickly apprehended by NYPD officers who were in the area. EMS transported the pedestrian to a nearby hospital in stable condition. Police later confirmed that the vehicle had been stolen earlier that morning and tracked via an AirTag.
