San Antonio, TX (September 17, 2025) – A deadly chain-reaction crash in San Antonio’s North Side early Tuesday morning left one man dead and several vehicles damaged on Highway 281.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the fatal collision occurred around 2:10 a.m. on September 16 in the northbound main lanes of Highway 281 near the Thousand Oaks Drive exit.
Authorities reported that a large pickup truck traveling at a high rate of speed slammed into the rear of a smaller pickup truck. The impact set off a multi-vehicle crash involving at least two other vehicles.
A man in his 30s, who was driving the smaller truck, was pinned inside and died at the scene. His identity has not yet been released. No other injuries were reported.
