San Antonio, TX (September 19, 2025) – A man suffered critical injuries Tuesday night after being struck by a car while attempting to cross a roadway in San Antonio’s Far East Side.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the pedestrian accident occurred around 10:30 p.m. on September 16 along the access road of Interstate 10 West near Bicentennial Drive. Police said the man appeared to hesitate while crossing the street and was hit by a four-door sedan.
The driver immediately stopped and attempted to render aid to the injured man. Emergency responders arrived and transported the pedestrian to a local hospital in critical condition.
While officers were redirecting traffic, an unrelated incident occurred when an 18-wheeler backed into a parked police vehicle. Fortunately, no officers were injured.
