Corpus Christi, TX (September 24, 2025) – A tragic multi-vehicle accident on Saturday evening claimed one life and left three others injured on State Highway 188 near Joey Drive.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the deadly crash occurred around 5:54 p.m. on September 21. A westbound 2016 Nissan Versa, driven by 62-year-old Edith Trotman of Sinton, reportedly veered into oncoming traffic, colliding head-on with a 2014 Honda CR-V operated by 54-year-old Sheryl Sczech of Spring Branch.
Following the initial crash, the Versa continued in the eastbound lane and struck a 2016 Nissan Frontier driven by 65-year-old Joel Icenhour of Fulton.
Trotman was pronounced dead at the scene. Sczech, Icenhour, and 23-year-old Lea Dujardin of New Braunfels, a passenger in the CR-V, sustained injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
