Odessa, TX (September 28, 2025) – A devastating crash early Thursday morning claimed the life of a 9-year-old boy and sent two adults to the hospital following a two-vehicle collision in north Odessa.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the incident occurred at approximately 7:09 a.m. on September 26 at the intersection of 87th Street and East Loop 338. Adrian Colon, 25, was reportedly driving a Ford Maverick southbound on East Loop 338 when he collided with a silver Mitsubishi Outlander. The Mitsubishi was turning left from northbound East Loop 338 onto 87th Street when it was struck.
The force of the crash pushed the Mitsubishi off the road, where it hit a power pole.
Colon and the Mitsubishi’s driver, 30-year-old Jasmine Ruvalcaba, were transported to a local hospital. Ruvalcaba’s 9-year-old passenger was also hospitalized but tragically succumbed to his injuries.
