Ocala, FL (September 29, 2025) – A massive pile-up involving nearly 50 vehicles shut down part of Interstate 75 in Marion County on Friday afternoon, sending seven people to area hospitals.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crashes happened just before 3 p.m. on September 27 along the southbound lanes of I-75 near U.S. 27, following a period of severe weather. The pile-up occurred over a two-mile stretch and involved both passenger cars and several tractor-trailers.
Ocala Fire Rescue, Marion County Fire Rescue, Road Rangers, and other emergency personnel responded to the scene. Seven individuals sustained injuries and were transported for medical treatment. Fortunately, no life-threatening injuries were reported.
