Madera County, CA (October 10, 2025) – Two people suffered major injuries early Wednesday morning following a collision between a sedan and a tractor-trailer in Madera County, according to the California Highway Patrol.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 4:37 a.m. on October 8 at the intersection of Avenue 25 and Road 9. A 35-year-old man from Manteca was driving a gray 2020 Volvo truck with a trailer northbound on Road 9 when he failed to stop at a posted stop sign.
The Volvo entered the intersection and was struck on its left side by an eastbound gray Toyota Corolla, driven by a 38-year-old woman from El Nido. The Toyota became lodged under the trailer following the impact.
Both the Toyota driver and her 22-year-old male passenger were transported to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno with major injuries. The Volvo driver was uninjured. Authorities confirmed that impairment is not suspected. The crash remains under investigation.
