El Paso, TX (October 10, 2025) – A tragic bicycle accident in East El Paso has claimed the life of 67-year-old Arturo Galvan, according to authorities.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision took place around 10:46 a.m. on October 7 at the intersection of Turner Road and Healy Drive, near Joe Battle Boulevard. Officials say Galvan had been riding his bicycle eastbound on Turner Road when he attempted a U-turn in front of an oncoming 2023 Dodge Charger, also traveling eastbound.
The driver of the Dodge was unable to stop in time, resulting in a crash in the eastbound lanes. Galvan sustained serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital, where he passed away the following day, Wednesday, October 8.
The El Paso Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
