Authorities responded to a single-vehicle crash shortly before noon on April 24. Preliminary reports indicate that a 2011 Ford F-150 veered off the roadway and struck a tree. Inside the vehicle were two-year-old Preston Ordone, known to many on TikTok as the “Okay Baby,” along with his parents, 25-year-old Katelynn Ordone and 27-year-old Jaelan Ordone.
Louisiana State Police stated that Preston was improperly restrained in a child safety seat and was later pronounced dead at a hospital. Both parents sustained serious injuries and were transported for medical care.
Preston’s grandfather, Glen Norris, disputed the claim of improper restraint, citing witness accounts that the car seat appeared properly secured. State Police emphasized that their public statements aim to educate the public while acknowledging the difficulty these announcements can cause for grieving families.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
