Gonzales, CA (November 17, 2025) – Multiple people sustained injuries in a three-vehicle crash involving a Monterey-Salinas Transit (MST) bus Friday morning just outside Gonzales.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened November 14 on Old Stage Road when the driver of a Kia sedan reportedly ran a stop sign at the overcrossing and attempted to pass the MST bus by illegally entering the southbound lane. The Kia then struck a southbound GMC pickup truck head-on, which was carrying a woman and two juveniles. The force of the impact caused the Kia to spin and crash into the side of the bus.

The pickup truck driver suffered moderate injuries, while one of the juveniles had minor injuries. Both were hospitalized. The Kia driver and a female passenger were seriously injured and taken to a medical facility. Ten passengers on the MST bus were evaluated at the scene; none were seriously hurt.
