HOUSTON, TX (November 19, 2025) – A 59-year-old woman who was struck by a vehicle in a late-August pedestrian accident has died from her injuries, Houston police confirmed this week.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the incident occurred at approximately 8:25 p.m. on August 23, 2025, in the 7300 block of Dixie Drive near the intersection with Telephone Road. A red Toyota Tacoma was heading east on Dixie Drive and attempting a right turn onto Telephone Road when it struck the woman as she crossed the street in a crosswalk.
The woman was hospitalized, treated for her injuries, and later released on November 5. Sadly, she passed away at her home on November 17 due to complications related to the collision.
The driver of the Toyota, a 17-year-old male, received a citation for failure to yield the right of way to a pedestrian. The investigation remains ongoing.
