GRIMES COUNTY, TX (November 19, 2025) – A violent crash early Saturday morning claimed the life of Wesner Carrillo, 31, of Pasco, Washington, along with another driver in a devastating head-on collision.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the fatal crash occurred at approximately 12:45 a.m. on November 15, 2025, along State Highway 249 near Farm to Market Road 1774 in Grimes County.

Carrillo was driving a Ford Escape westbound when, for unknown reasons, he crossed into the eastbound lane and struck a Toyota Highlander head-on. The Highlander was driven by 45-year-old Hugo Valderrama-Contero of Spring, Texas.

Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.

Following the initial collision, a Honda Civic struck the disabled Escape. A rear passenger in the Highlander was seriously injured and transported to a nearby hospital. Three children also involved were hospitalized and later released after receiving treatment.

The crash remains under investigation.
