According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the fatal crash occurred at approximately 3:40 a.m. on November 16. Rios-Vallejos was driving a 2008 Honda Civic westbound on Pioneer Parkway when he reportedly ran a red light and collided with a 2012 Ford Explorer traveling northbound on South Cooper Street.
Rios-Vallejos was transported to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries. The driver of the Ford Explorer and two passengers sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were also taken to the hospital for treatment.
