Lake County, FL (November 21, 2025) — A devastating two-vehicle crash on State Road 33 near Groveland Farms Road left two teenagers dead and seriously injured a 6-year-old boy on Saturday evening, November 15.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 16-year-old girl driving a 2008 Toyota Scion attempted to pass another vehicle in a no-passing zone when she collided with a northbound 2021 Lincoln Aviator driven by a 75-year-old man. The impact caused the Scion to spin and flip, killing the teen driver and her 17-year-old passenger at the scene.
Among the four passengers in the Aviator was 6-year-old Nickai Mixon, who sustained life-threatening injuries. His family reports his spine was partially shattered and he is facing a 50% chance of never walking again. Nickai remains hospitalized at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, undergoing treatment and recovery.
