Gaines County, TX (November 22, 2025) – A deadly two-vehicle crash early Wednesday morning claimed the life of one woman and left two men seriously injured in Gaines County.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision took place on November 19 at the intersection of County Road 212 and County Road 219. Daniel Gonzales Jr., 40, of Seminole, was traveling westbound on CR 212 when he reportedly failed to stop at a posted stop sign and collided with a vehicle driven by Irving Alejandro Hernandez Presas, 31, of Pharr, who was heading north on CR 219.

The impact caused both vehicles to roll over. Cynthia Chavez Hernandez, 32, a passenger in Presas’ car, was pronounced dead at the scene. Presas sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to University Medical Center in Lubbock. Gonzales was transported to Seminole Hospital, also with serious injuries.

All involved parties were wearing seatbelts. The investigation remains ongoing.
