Collier County, FL (November 27, 2025) – A tragic crash in Collier County took the life of a 17-year-old girl from Immokalee on Wednesday evening, according to officials with the Florida Highway Patrol.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident occurred on November 26 at around 5:59 p.m. on Vanderbilt Beach Road near Islandwalk Boulevard. The teen was driving westbound when her vehicle entered the intersection. At the same time, an 86-year-old man driving a Jeep eastbound was turning left across her path.
The front of the Jeep struck the side of the teen’s car, causing it to overturn and crash into a light pole. The 17-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two juvenile passengers in the teen’s vehicle and the Jeep’s passenger were seriously injured and transported to the hospital. Troopers are working to determine the status of the traffic signals at the time of the crash.
