Richland Hills, TX (December 1, 2025) – A deadly wrong-way crash early Sunday morning on State Highway 121 in Richland Hills claimed the life of one person and left another with non-life-threatening injuries.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, police began receiving 911 calls around 5:30 a.m. on November 30 reporting a vehicle traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of State Highway 121, also known as Airport Freeway. Within minutes, first responders were dispatched to the 6900 block of the highway, where two vehicles had collided and one was fully engulfed in flames.
Emergency crews extinguished the fire and discovered that the wrong-way driver, the sole occupant of the burning vehicle, had died at the scene. The other driver was injured and transported to a local hospital for treatment. Preliminary investigations suggest intoxication played a role in the crash. The identity of the deceased will be released after notification of next of kin.
