Allen County, KS (December 3, 2025) — A fatal head-on crash along U.S. Route 169 claimed the life of one driver and seriously injured another in Allen County on Monday evening.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the accident happened at approximately 5:35 p.m. on December 1 near milepost 56 on U169, about 0.4 miles east of 1150th Street. A 2015 Ford F-150, driven by 58-year-old Jerri Linn Francis of Chanute, was traveling southbound when it crossed the center line and collided head-on with a northbound 2019 GMC Sierra driven by 19-year-old Charles Edward Rogers II of Iola.
Francis was pronounced dead at the scene and transported to Countryside mortuary. Rogers sustained serious injuries and was taken to Wesley Medical Center for treatment. Both drivers were reportedly wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
