According to reports, the collision occurred around 3:45 a.m. and involved a vehicle that became fully engulfed in flames after crashing. Investigators with the Reno Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team said multiple people were ejected from the vehicle. A Good Samaritan reportedly pulled several of the victims away from the burning wreckage before emergency responders arrived.
All three injured occupants were transported to local hospitals with moderate to major injuries. The Reno Fire Department and REMSA were among the emergency crews who responded to the scene.
Authorities believe that both speed and impairment were contributing factors in the crash. The identities of the deceased have not been released pending family notification.
