Willows, CA (December 13, 2025) – One man sustained minor injuries following a two-vehicle crash that occurred Wednesday evening on Highway 162 just west of Willows, according to the California Highway Patrol.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision took place around 5:25 p.m. on December 10 when a Chevrolet 1500 pickup, driven by 26-year-old Juan Zamora Villapando of Woodland, was traveling southbound on County Road D. As Villapando approached the intersection with Highway 162, he reportedly failed to notice a westbound GMC Acadia driven by 41-year-old Danee Carney.
The GMC Acadia, which was occupied by Carney and two 15-year-old passengers, struck the driver’s side of the Chevrolet after Villapando entered the intersection. Officers found Villapando at the scene with back and chest pain. He was treated for minor injuries. Carney and the juveniles were unharmed, and all parties had been wearing seat belts.
Authorities confirmed that drugs and alcohol were not factors in the crash.
