Indio, CA (December 14, 2025) – A tragic motorcycle and big rig collision claimed the life of a local man late Thursday night in Indio. The accident happened around 11:15 p.m. on December 11 at 43401 Monroe Street, just south of Interstate 10.
According to the California Highway Patrol, 33-year-old Roberto Rodriguez of Indio was severely injured after his motorcycle collided with a semi-truck. Officers arriving at the scene located Rodriguez in the roadway with critical injuries. He was transported to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, where he sadly passed away Friday morning.
The driver of the big rig remained at the scene and is said to have cooperated fully with law enforcement. No injuries were reported to the truck driver. Monroe Street was temporarily closed between Oleander Avenue and Interstate 10 and reopened shortly before 3 a.m.
