San Diego, CA (December 15, 2025) – A 40-year-old man sustained serious injuries after being hit by a vehicle while crossing an intersection Friday evening in Mission Valley East.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at the intersection of Camino De La Reina and Qualcomm Way. At approximately the time of the crash, a 41-year-old man was driving a 2007 Honda Accord westbound on Camino De La Reina in the far-left lane and had a green light.
San Diego police reported that the pedestrian entered the west crosswalk of Qualcomm Way against the red light and was struck as the vehicle entered the intersection. The impact caused the pedestrian to suffer an open leg fracture, facial lacerations, and abrasions. Emergency crews transported him to the hospital, where his injuries were described as serious but not life-threatening.
