Haslet, TX (May 31, 2025) – A Friday morning crash turned dangerous when a dump truck barreled into a home in Haslet, sending one driver to the hospital and causing significant property damage.
According to reports, deputies responded just before 10:30 a.m. to the area of FM Road 718 and Newark Ranch Road. A northbound Mercedes reportedly suffered a tire blowout, veered into oncoming traffic, and struck a dump truck. In an attempt to avoid a head-on collision, the dump truck driver, Dale Collins, swerved off-road, crashing through a fence and into a home on Melissa Cove.
WFAA chopper footage showed the truck overturned near the house’s garage. A sedan involved was pushed onto nearby train tracks. Collins, owner of Dale Collins Trucking, was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries but is expected to recover. His dog, who was in the truck, was unharmed. The Mercedes driver was treated for minor injuries, and the homeowner was checked and released by EMS.
