Clinton County, MO (December 16, 2025) – A collision along Highway 116 east of Lathrop left two men injured and both vehicles disabled Sunday evening, according to state troopers.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 7:49 p.m. on December 14 at the intersection of Highway 116 and Northeast Valann Lane. An 18-year-old from Lathrop was behind the wheel of a 2012 Chevrolet Colorado that had come to a stop facing north in the westbound lane following a previous incident. As the truck sat stationary, it was struck on the driver’s side by a westbound 2026 Hyundai Tucson driven by a 60-year-old man from Ostrander, Ohio.
Following the impact, the Chevrolet rotated and came to rest facing south in the roadway, while the Hyundai came to a stop facing north. Both vehicles sustained damage and were towed from the scene.
EMS units transported the 18-year-old to Liberty Hospital and the 60-year-old to North Kansas City Hospital for treatment. Both men were reportedly wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
