Philadelphia, PA (December 17, 2025) – A tragic crash involving an Uber vehicle claimed the life of a passenger Monday morning after a fleeing suspect ran from law enforcement and collided with the ride-share vehicle.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police, the incident began around 7:14 a.m. on December 15, when Philadelphia Sheriff’s deputies attempted to serve a domestic assault arrest warrant to 35-year-old Joseph Cini on the 900 block of North Watts Street. Instead of complying, Cini fled the scene in a Nissan Maxima, leading to a deadly chain of events.
While driving eastbound on Girard Avenue, Cini crashed into a red Jeep Patriot being used as an Uber. The impact killed a passenger inside the ride-share vehicle. Cini abandoned his car and fled on foot northbound along 8th Street. Police are continuing to search for him.
