Marengo, IL (December 17, 2025) – A serious crash between a semi-truck and an SUV sent two adults to the hospital Monday morning in unincorporated Marengo, according to local fire officials.

According to the Illinois State Police, emergency crews from the Marengo Fire & Rescue Districts and McHenry County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched at approximately 9:33 a.m. on December 15 to the intersection of Kishwaukee Valley Road and Deerpass Road following reports of a major vehicle crash with injuries.

Responders arrived to find a mid-sized Jeep SUV with significant front-end damage resting in the intersection. The semi-truck, identified as a garbage hauler, sustained damage to its trailer and was located several hundred feet east of the intersection. Two adults from the SUV were transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries.
