Island Park, ID (June 1, 2025) – A tragic collision near Yellowstone National Park earlier this month has claimed seven lives following a fiery two-vehicle crash.
According to reports, the crash occurred around 7:15 p.m. on May 1 on Highway 20 near Henry’s Lake in Island Park. Authorities say a Dodge Ram pickup truck, driven by 25-year-old Isaih Moreno of Humble, Texas, crossed the center line and collided head-on with a tour van operated by Ctour Holiday LLC. The impact caused both vehicles to burst into flames.
Moreno, along with six individuals from the van, were pronounced dead at the scene. Idaho State Police later confirmed that Moreno had a blood alcohol content of 0.20%, over twice the legal limit. Victims in the van included passengers from China, Italy, and California. Several other occupants were seriously injured and transported to area hospitals, some by air ambulance.
Highway 20 was closed for several hours while emergency crews responded and investigated.
