Jackson County, MO (December 20, 2025) – A Jackson County deputy was hospitalized with serious injuries after being struck by a passing vehicle while assisting at a crash scene Wednesday evening, December 17.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the incident occurred shortly after 6:00 p.m. near the intersection of Buckner Tarsney Road and Ryan Road, just south of Interstate 70. Two deputies were investigating an earlier crash when a southbound vehicle approached the area and struck one of them as he stood outside his patrol vehicle.
