DeKalb County, MO (December 30, 2025) – A deadly crash involving a Chevrolet Tahoe and a semi-truck occurred Saturday night on U.S. Highway 36 near the MO-33 south junction, about two miles west of Osborn, resulting in one fatality and multiple injuries, including two juveniles.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash took place at approximately 8:54 p.m. on December 27, 2025. A 34-year-old man from Savannah, Missouri, was driving a Chevrolet Tahoe north on MO-33 when he failed to stop at the intersection’s stop sign and entered the path of an eastbound 2025 Volvo tractor-trailer. The semi struck the Tahoe, sending both vehicles into the median.
The Tahoe caught fire and was fully engulfed after coming to rest. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:53 p.m. by the DeKalb County Coroner. Two juvenile passengers from Savannah were injured—one seriously—and transported to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph.
A secondary crash occurred when a passing vehicle struck the overturned semi-trailer, reportedly due to visibility issues from the fire and fog.
