According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 6:00 a.m. on December 28 along westbound U.S. Highway 50 at NW 1501 Road. Authorities say a 2001 Saturn SL1, driven by a 21-year-old man from Villa Rica, Georgia, failed to stop at a stop sign and entered the path of a 2025 Ford Escape traveling westbound.
The collision resulted in fatal injuries to the male driver of the Saturn. He was pronounced deceased on scene by a Johnson County paramedic at 6:15 a.m. and released to a local funeral home. The 44-year-old female driver of the Ford Escape, a Knob Noster resident, suffered minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene.
