Conecuh County, AL (December 31, 2025) – A deadly two-vehicle crash early Monday morning in Conecuh County claimed the life of a woman from Evergreen. The collision occurred around 5:10 a.m. on December 29 along U.S. Highway 84 near the 112 mile marker, approximately 15 miles east of Evergreen.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, 35-year-old Monica J. Phillips was driving a 2014 Nissan Rogue when her vehicle collided head-on with a 2015 Ford Explorer. The SUV, operated by 21-year-old Samantha K. Guy of Daphne, had reportedly struck a fallen tree in the roadway just before the impact.
Phillips was pronounced deceased at the scene. Guy sustained injuries and was transported to Andalusia Health for treatment. The crash caused a temporary closure of U.S. 84 while investigators and responders cleared the scene.
