Jurupa Valley, CA (January 1, 2026) — A four-vehicle crash on the Pomona (60) Freeway caused hours-long delays Tuesday morning after a tow truck became lodged beneath a tractor-trailer.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 8:29 a.m. on December 30, on the westbound side of the 60 Freeway just east of Rubidoux Boulevard. Authorities say a tow truck driver was attempting to stop in the slow lane to assist a disabled vehicle when the truck struck a big rig. The impact caused a Subaru SUV and Honda Civic to collide alongside the tow truck, scattering debris across all westbound lanes.
The front of the tow truck, which was transporting two vehicles, was wedged beneath the semi. The driver managed to self-extricate. Several motorists reported minor injuries but declined medical treatment. Debris damaged additional vehicles nearby, though no further injuries were reported.
As of 11:00 a.m., cleanup crews were still working to free the tow truck, with slow lane closures still in effect.
