Hollywood, CA (January 7, 2026) – A man was rescued from a burning structure early Sunday morning after flames tore through a large, boarded-up two-story Craftsman-style home in Hollywood.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the Los Angeles Fire Department responded around 4:30 a.m. on January 4 to reports of a significant blaze at 6720 West Sunset Boulevard, near Highland Avenue. Firefighters arrived to find “heavy fire” throughout both levels of the building and some fire extension into two nearby bungalows.
A team of seventy firefighters battled the blaze and successfully knocked it down in just over an hour. During the response, crews heard cries for help and used a ladder to rescue a 42-year-old man from the second floor.
