Gallatin, MO (January 10, 2026) – A fatal two-vehicle crash took place early Wednesday evening, January 7, along Missouri Route 6 at Route DD, just one mile west of Gallatin in Daviess County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at approximately 6:02 p.m. Investigators say a 26-year-old man from Lawson, driving a 2005 Chevrolet Equinox, was traveling south on Route DD when he failed to stop at a stop sign. His vehicle was struck by a westbound 2007 Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 38-year-old man from Union Star.
The impact forced both vehicles off the south side of the highway. The Silverado overturned, colliding with a utility pole and fence before coming to rest on its driver’s side. The Equinox landed upright. The 26-year-old driver of the Equinox suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Dalton Godsey. The second driver sustained minor injuries and was taken by EMS to Mosaic Life Care for treatment.
