Palm Beach County, FL (June 5, 2025) — A major four-vehicle crash shut down the southbound lanes of the Turnpike on Wednesday afternoon and left more than a dozen people injured.

According to reports, the collision occurred around 1 p.m. near the Atlantic Avenue interchange and involved two SUVs, a minivan, and a semi-truck hauling vehicles. Although two additional vehicles were stopped nearby, authorities confirmed they were not part of the crash.

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue declared the scene a mass casualty event, prompting a heightened emergency response that included at least 10 emergency vehicles and 25 first responders. In total, 14 people were hurt, with one individual requiring transport to a trauma center. The Turnpike was closed for several hours, leading to extensive traffic delays, but has since reopened.
