Hoosick, NY (June 6, 2025) – A tragic two-vehicle collision in Hoosick claimed one life and injured two others late Thursday morning.
According to reports, the crash occurred around 10:32 a.m. at the intersection of State Route 7 and State Route 22. New York State Police say a blue 2010 Mazda sedan driven by 25-year-old Susan Alexis Joe of Petersburgh, New York, collided with a red 2010 Honda sedan.
Authorities report that 82-year-old Elizabeth Cain of North Adams, Massachusetts, was driving the Honda and was accompanied by 84-year-old front-seat passenger Claire Boyer of Williamstown, Massachusetts. Joe was found outside her vehicle with apparent leg and hip injuries and was transported to Albany Medical Center for treatment.
Cain was extricated from her vehicle by emergency responders and also transported to Albany Medical Center with a suspected leg injury. Tragically, despite life-saving efforts, Boyer was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Preliminary findings suggest Cain was attempting to turn westbound onto State Route 7 from State Route 22 when the collision occurred. The investigation remains ongoing.
