According to the Georgia State Patrol , the collision involved a Chevrolet van, a Ford F150 pickup truck, a Toyota Corolla, and a Ford F350 commercial motor vehicle that were traveling in the left lane of Interstate 75 South. Authorities reported that the Ford F350 struck the rear of the Toyota Corolla, which then impacted the Ford F150. The Ford F150 was subsequently pushed into the rear of the Chevrolet van.
A 61 year old woman and a 1 year old male child inside the Toyota Corolla were pronounced deceased at the scene. A 33 year old female was transported to the emergency room for treatment. Additional occupants, including the Toyota passenger, the Ford F150 driver, and the Ford F350 passenger, were taken to Navicent Macon Medical Center with injuries.
