Washington, NC (February 22, 2026) – A late-night car accident claimed the life of a Washington man on U.S. Highway 64/13 on Wednesday, February 18. The crash occurred near the 507-mile marker at approximately 11:35 p.m.
According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, 47-year-old Corey Shaw was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of U.S. Highway 64/13 when his vehicle struck an eastbound tractor-trailer head-on.
