Hampstead, MD (June 7, 2025) — A tragic multi-vehicle crash early Friday morning claimed two lives in Carroll County, according to authorities.
News sources show the accident happened around 7:45 a.m. on Maryland Route 30. Preliminary investigations by Maryland State Police indicate that a Ford pickup truck traveling southbound crossed into northbound lanes, striking a dump truck. The impact pushed the dump truck into a Chevrolet pickup truck.
Nicholas Standiford, 25, of Spring Grove, Pennsylvania, the driver of the Chevrolet pickup truck, was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the dump truck also lost their life. The driver and another passenger from the dump truck, along with the Ford pickup truck driver, were airlifted to Shock Trauma for further treatment.
Maryland State Police closed the roadway for approximately five hours as their Crash Team conducted an investigation.
