Marion County, KY (April 29, 2026) – A tragic head on car accident along US 68 in Marion County early Monday morning resulted in two fatalities and left two others injured.
According to the Kentucky State Police , troopers from Post 15 in Columbia were requested by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office to respond to a two vehicle crash just before 5 a.m. Eastern Time on April 28 along US 68, also known as Danville Highway, outside Lebanon.
Preliminary findings indicate that a 2018 Toyota Camry driven by Mahalia Brown, 43, of Magnolia, Mississippi, was traveling west on US 68 when it crossed the centerline and entered the eastbound lane. The Camry then collided head on with a 2018 Kenworth dump truck traveling east, operated by Christopher Perkins, 49, of Campbellsville. Investigators reported that the truck driver attempted to brake and steer to avoid the crash but was unable to prevent the collision.
Mahalia Brown and a passenger, Benjamin Thompson, 20, of Magnolia, Mississippi, were both pronounced dead at the scene by the Marion County Coroner. Another passenger in the Camry, Darian Thompson, 22, was transported to Spring View Hospital in Lebanon with serious injuries. The driver of the dump truck was also taken to the same hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The investigation remains ongoing.
