Mableton, GA (July 5, 2026) – A motorcyclist lost his life following a collision with a sport utility vehicle Wednesday evening on Veterans Memorial Highway in Mableton. The fatal crash occurred at approximately 6:32 p.m. on July 2 in front of 1130 Veterans Memorial Highway.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, the Cobb County Police Department reported that 23-year-old Egarnoise Evans of Powder Springs was traveling west on a 2019 Kawasaki ZX636 motorcycle when a 2018 Kia Sportage attempted to make a left turn onto Veterans Memorial Highway from a parking lot. Investigators said the Kia entered the motorcycle’s path, and the motorcycle struck the driver’s side of the SUV.
Authorities said Evans was thrown from the motorcycle and came to rest in the westbound lanes. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Cobb County Medical Examiner’s Office after lifesaving efforts were unsuccessful. The 75-year-old driver of the Kia was transported by ambulance to Wellstar Cobb Medical Center with minor injuries.
