Coffee County, GA (July 17, 2026) – A pedestrian suffered serious injuries after being struck by a pickup truck early Friday morning along State Route 206 Connector in Coffee County.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, troopers responded to the crash scene at approximately 12:15 a.m. on July 11. Investigators reported that Betty J. Meeks, 48, of Broxton, was driving a 2003 Ford Ranger westbound on State Route 206 Connector when the front of the pickup truck struck a pedestrian from behind. The pedestrian, identified as 24-year-old Tydarius R. Lester of Douglas, was reportedly walking westbound in the middle of the westbound lane at the time of the collision. Lester sustained serious injuries and was transported to Coffee Regional Medical Center for treatment. The crash remains under investigation by the Georgia State Patrol.
