According to the California Highway Patrol, a 29-year-old Porterville man was traveling north on Road 236 in a 2001 Ram 1500 when the pickup crossed the double yellow lines and entered the opposing lane. The Ram collided with the left front side of a 2004 Ford Fusion traveling south on Road 236.
The impact caused the Ram to overturn, and its driver was ejected from the vehicle. The 29-year-old Ram driver and the Ford driver, identified as a 55-year-old woman from Terra Bella, were both pronounced dead at the scene. Their names were not released in the initial report.
