Riverside, CA (August 1, 2026) – A 60-year-old Los Angeles man was killed in a multi-vehicle collision involving a Chevrolet Corvette, a semi truck, and a Toyota Tacoma early Thursday morning on the Pomona (60) Freeway in Riverside. The fatal crash occurred just before 5 a.m. on July 30 near the Market Street interchange.
According to the California Highway Patrol, investigators said Roland Barsoum was driving a 2024 Chevrolet Corvette eastbound in the No. 2 lane at a high rate of speed when he approached a slower moving semi truck. Authorities reported that the Corvette failed to brake and struck the rear of the big rig. The impact caused the semi truck to veer into a 2018 Toyota Tacoma that was entering the Pomona Freeway from Market Street. Following the second collision, the Corvette left the freeway, traveled down an embankment, and came to rest off the roadway.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and pronounced Barsoum dead. The driver of the semi truck and the driver of the Toyota Tacoma were not injured and did not require medical treatment.
