Las Cruces, NM (August 5, 2026) – A 52-year-old man died after being struck by a vehicle Saturday night while walking in the roadway near the intersection of Amador Avenue and Esperanza Street in Las Cruces.
According to the New Mexico State Police, emergency responders were dispatched shortly before 10:00 p.m. on August 1 to the area of Amador Avenue and Esperanza Street following reports of a pedestrian crash. First responders located the injured man suffering from multiple traumatic injuries and immediately began providing medical care.
The pedestrian was transported to MountainView Regional Medical Center before being transferred to University Medical Center in El Paso for advanced treatment.
