Cobb County, GA (August 13, 2026) – A serious collision involving a pickup truck and a tanker tractor trailer left one driver with life threatening injuries Thursday evening along Barrett Parkway in Cobb County.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, investigators with the Cobb County Police Department STEP Unit responded to the crash on August 7 along Barrett Parkway, north of the Irwin Road overpass. Authorities reported that a red 2000 Chevrolet Silverado traveling north crossed into the southbound lanes, where it collided with a gray 2023 Mack Anthem pulling a tanker semi trailer. The front of the Mack struck the driver’s side of the Chevrolet during the impact.
Emergency responders transported the driver of the Chevrolet Silverado to a nearby hospital with life threatening injuries. The driver of the Mack tractor trailer was not injured in the collision.
